What do you enjoy most about Being an Angel Publicity Strategist?
Dr. Pam: I enjoy helping experts who are also authors and speakers get their message out there. I really love taking them from “unknown” to being seen, heard and paid for their expertise. Once I see their vision, I help them manifest the media. I love creating buzz for their brand, books and business. That’s what brings me joy.
What have been some challenges?
Dr. Pam: Making sure clients understand anything worth having takes time. Getting media attention takes time. Developing relationships with journalists takes time. Building credibility takes time. Once people know about you, they watch you to see how consistent you are. I find more clients give up too soon. If people knew better, they would do better.
You have recently graced various stages during October’s National Women’s Small Business Month Celebrations. Please tell us about your purposeful contributions on stage.
Dr. Pam: I go by the acronyms in my name: P – to promote stories. A – to amplify messages. M – to market those messages to the right audience. The P.A.M. method to PR. No matter where I go, I want to uplight business owners and encourage them to have a marketing mindset. To showcase their superpower and shine their
light.
As a Podcast Host, Creator & Publisher of “Speakers Magazine” Multi-Media Platform, What makes it special? And What are the signature services that you provide?
Dr. Pam: This is the vehicle for African American speakers. We are the official magazine of the Black Speakers Network (BSN). The mission of Speakers Magazine brand is to have an ecosystem of media properties. We have a community with BSN, a TV show and podcast that I host, a monthly magazine that is print and digital. We are on the scene with our cover stories providing social media marketing support and doing LIVE red carpet interviews at their events. Plus our website is like a directory of top-shelf Black speakers. The way we nurture our speakers is what makes up special – we feed and feature them. Feeding them with contacts, PR and exposure – and featuring them in all places so they can get booked and stay busy!

Your passion to empower gifted speakers is quite profound. Thank you for all your hard work. What is the “Why” behind it?
Dr. Pam: I am one who loves to shine light on others – those who have messages that can change the world. I am a better person today because of motivational books I’ve read and speakers I’ve listened to. It’s what lights me up and I want to share that light with others.
What would you like to see more of in the media and speakers industries?
Dr. Pam: More representation and acknowledgement of Black speakers and subject matter experts. So many negative images are out in the news media about us and the only way to correct that is to have more people that look like me in places of power to promote us. We need more producers, editors, publishers, podcasters and content creators who have a heart to share our stories. Black Lives Matter is more than a hashtag – it should be a way of life for all to recognize and respect.
Congratulations on Winning the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. What can you tell us about it?
Dr. Pam: It is quite a blessing and I’m quite honored to be recognized for the decades of hard and consistent work I’ve put in to promote, amplify and market the messages of my people – Black authors, speakers and experts who are here to change the world. Sharing my time and talent with those aspiring is what I have shared tirelessly over many years – and it’s great to be honored this way with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement award.
You have bagged countless accomplishments under your belt, and numerous awards. How do you balance being a businesswoman, being a PR Guru, and self-care?
Dr. Pam: I have one philosophy that I live by: If you don’t love it; don’t do it. If you love what you do and do what you love – your “work” never feels like work. Knowing your purpose and staying in alignment with that is the key to success. I put God first, then family and then my work. Knowing what matters most is how to stay balanced.
