About Negrita Smart
A small-town girl from Alabama, Negrita Smart is a wife, sister, believer, and teacher at heart. The first of her family to graduate from college, Negrita holds a Masters in Business Administration and the insurance designation of Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriters and holds insurance licenses in Property and Casualty and Life and Health. She credits and shares her accomplishments with her supportive family.
Negrita loves spending time with her family and has happily taken on the unofficial role of Event Planner bringing family members together through fun and love.
In her professional life, Negrita utilizes her talent for sharing knowledge and information as a new-hire training creating user-friendly webinars, courses, tests, and gauge learning within within business areas such as auto, property, and agriculture.
As an author, Negrita is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators always looking to connect, share and grow with fellow writers.
An active supporter of her local church ministry, Negrita is driven to share life lessons with children through story-telling and relatable characters.

Can you share with us a memorable experience from your journey as a speaker and how it relates to the themes of literary inspiration and empowerment, especially in the context of Chosen Pen’s mission?
Negrita Smart: I have been inspired by this journey as a Speaker by reaching beyond my comfort zone and a place of familiarity. I have been challenged to use key literacy skills such as communication, critical reasoning and connecting with people. While working with Chosen Pen Publishing, I have been encouraged, supported, and given the tools by the Chosen Pen Publishing family to reach my full potential.
Chosen Pen Publishing believes in the power of storytelling. How do you see storytelling as a catalyst for personal growth and forgiveness, and can you provide an example from your own life or work that illustrates this?
Negrita Smart: Writing is therapeutic. There are conversations in life that we may not be ready to have but we can express our thoughts and emotions in writing until we are ready to use our audible voices. This builds the bridge to personal growth and forgiveness.
As the speaker for Chosen Pen’s 10th Anniversary Celebration, what unique insights or perspectives do you plan to bring to the event to inspire both authors and readers in attendance, especially in the context of your association with Forbes Business Council?
Negrita Smart: I hope to inspire us all to return to the basics of reading and writing and continue to expound on those skills.
