KenAsia Woods is a native of Louisiana, but was raised in Houston, Tx. She is a student at the University of Houston Victoria-Katy campus, where she is obtaining her Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. KenAsia has decided to pursue counseling because she wants to make an impact in her community, and help those who are struggling with their mental health. As a counselor, she hopes to provide a safe space for holistic healing and empowerment without the fear of being judged, because of the parameters of her clients’ problems.
Aside from being a full time student, KenAsia is the Founder of Kay Way Cosmetics. Her two signature items are the Kay Way Lip-gloss that gives lips moisture and shine, and the Kay Way Body Butter that enhances the body’s natural glow. Kay Way Cosmetics is special to KenAsia because it is named after her paternal grandmother, Hazel Woods. Hazel was a vibrant woman that encouraged KenAsia to be herself from a very young age.
Through her work KenAsia hopes to inspire individuals to be their best selves, and never dim their lights for others. She wants them to feel empowered, fearless, and confident in ALL aspects of their lives. She aspires to provide a platform where women can come and are not expected to have it all together. An aspiring platform where women will leave with hope and confidence, that with a little help they can begin to mend their pieces back together.
KenAsia is also a proud member of the first African American sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated where she participates in countless opportunities of giving back to her community. There are multiple things that she finds interest in and enjoys doing, however KenAsia’s ultimate passion is advocating for mental health and helping individuals reach their state of peace.
Her favorite quote states “And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years”.

Most people think of an “It Girl” as someone who seemingly has it all together. Someone who can walk the walk and talk the talk, the top notch and baddest of the bad there is, and the one who shows up in the latest fashion, sleek hair, and prettiest smile. However, an “Intellectual It Girl” doesn’t just look like she has it together, she feels it too. She understands her emotions, recognizes her boundaries, advocates for her needs and confronts her chaos.
KenAsia knows personally what it is like to have been in a dark place, where there was no amount of money or new pair of shoes that could brighten it. She never looked like she was struggling, but mentally KenAsia was going through turmoil. It was not until she got out of that phase that she realized so many others were looking the part, but were falling apart too. That is why she created the “Intellectual It Girl” Workshop, helping teenagers to focus on the inside just as much as they focus on the outside.
