Amazon Checkout Services Down
Amazon’s checkout system experienced a technical outage on the eve of the Labor Day holiday weekend, leaving many shoppers frustrated and unable to complete their purchases. The issue, which began around 4 pm, persisted for over five hours, with reports of problems flooding throughout the evening.
A message on Amazon’s Customer Service page acknowledged the issue, apologised for the inconvenience, and advised customers to try again later. Shoppers took to social media to express their disappointment, with some reporting that they had taken their business elsewhere, resulting in potential losses for Amazon.

By around 10 pm, the issue appeared to have been resolved, with shoppers reporting successful checkouts. The outage also affected Amazon Prime and Amazon AWS, with similar trends in reported problems.
Amazon has yet to comment on the cause of the issue, the impact on buyers and sellers, or whether restitution will be offered to affected sellers. Despite the resolution, the glitch may have cost Amazon millions in lost sales and damaged customer trust.
People are expressing their anger on social media platforms like X, and many memes are also being trolled on Amazon and its services all over the internet.
